This 8 hour training will provide an overview of the various types of technology used for sexual exploitation and to facilitate crimes against children. There will be discussion surrounding the offenders’ use of technology, the challenges new technology creates, and the impact it has upon victims.

About the presenter:
Sgt. Steven Del Negro (Retired) was a 29 year veteran of the Massachusetts State Police and for the last 12 years of his career he was assigned to the Digital Evidence Media Section/ICAC Task Force. Sgt. Del Negro was the Commander for the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Massachusetts in which he provided training to Law Enforcement, Coordinated and conducted ICAC investigations, provided public awareness presentations and was the state contact for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cybertips. As a state police Detective for 16 years, he investigated homicides, unattended deaths, rapes, child abuse, child sexual assaults, and other major crimes. Mr. Del Negro has worked with multiple federal, state, and local agency task forces.
He has a BS in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 198th session. He was the former President and First Vice President of the High Technology Crime Investigators Association New England Chapter. He is also a consultant instructor for National Criminal Justice Training Center for the past 13 years in ICAC Investigative Techniques, Knoppix,Yahoo undercover techniques, Cybertip manager, Peer to Peer Investigations (Roundup), Onscene Investigations and TUX4N6. He has also spoken to several of the National Children Advocacy centers on Emerging Technology Facilitated Crimes Against Children. He has presented around the country at several national conferences on Internet investigations and Internet safety and awareness.
